To change your behaviour you have to concentrate just once to replace the thought with another. The next time is easier. And the next and the next. Gets easy. Eradicates the thought of habit. Refuse just once to do that behaviour. As a Man Thinks so Shall He Be.

This is very true. I've been walking regularly after dinner, and it's very easy to put on your trainers and coat and just get out there once you've done it everyday for a few weeks.

The same goes for running - I've been running every monday or tuesday since September. Only one week off due to sickness. And I'm not bothered by the cold, snow or rain. Once you form a habit, something clicks in your brain and pushes you into doing it and not really questioning why you'd wanna get out of a nice, warm and comfortable bed at 6.30, to go for a 4 mile run.

Yea! Habit formation takes time, and the ease of adopting one doesn't necessarily apply to others. Persistence and patience are key to building the habits you desire 🔄🧠

I was a heroin addict for 10 yrs. The first time I tried it, I was instantly MENTALLY addicted, but it took about 3 weeks for my BODY to become addicted. So wether a good habit or a bad habit, I can attest it takes about 21 days for the body to lock on.

i tried losing fat multiple times, around 2 weeks you get a massive wave of famish and start eating like crazy and the whole thing goes to sh*t. this time i have lasted roughly 3-4 weeks when i tipped over and i dont have that urge to eat as much as i used to anymore

He said it, people formed it with the least mental effort. A good way to see is that it's just time for that, no any other reason. It's time to eat, pray/meditate, exercise, bath, school/work, lunch, dinner, some chat, sleep.

It's the same with social media, without thinking much about it it became a part of your daily life and also because somehow you were excited about something (you somehow visualize about it for a short time)

I am now doing Yoga and Pushups every morning for 5 weeks straight, and I started struggeling 2 weeks ago to keep it going. I need a lot of mental effort to motivate myself, but I Stick to it with disciplin. I wish for the day it feels totally natural to me.

My new habit I am trying to learn: not using my phone when I get home 🥲. Focusing on the moment, specifically when I am by myself.

In that study about walks there's too many variables. They don't take into account that walks will actually raise your dopamine. Other habits such as brushing your teeth or something do not do the same. So, you can't really compare all habits in the single variable of time.
