When you look up at the night sky, every dot looks the same and they all twinkle. But are they actually twinkling?

I went to a camp once for an overnight field trip. We went out into an empty field they owned and looked through a telescope so we could see planets. While waiting, students could lay out their towels/blankets on the grass and study the stars in the sky. I saw a blinking star, and found it odd because I never knew stars could blink. I also thought I spotted the Big Dipper, and told everyone around me. Turns out, it wasn’t the Big Dipper, and I wasted my friends’ time by making them stare into the sky to see it :)

I saw one twinkle, from a constellation named Hercules..(I forgot the full name) but it was more flickering agressivily than twinkling or staying stagnant like the other stars

Why would I see 2 stars close to each other. One is twinkling like crazy and the other one isn't at all ? I would expect to see both doing the same since it's the atmosphere that causes it !

Just tell the truth that there is water above the firmament which causes the stars to twinkle, which will also confirm that the world is not moving in a space but stable in the dome with water covering the firmament as spoken by the bible.
