When the 2018 eruption stopped, it was 6 cubic miles short of average. About 10 cu. Now. But there's a new island east about 2k feet from the surface. That's about 28, 000 ft from the ocean floor. New Big Island forming.

I was hoping the previous fissures would reactivate, and we'd get lava falls as the flow entered Napau crater, not that it would erupt inside the crater

Please tell truth that the eruption is happening in a remote area in the park AT the BORDER WITH the UPPER PUNA District … This eruptions just 500 feet or less away from the upper Puna Border with the National Park and you can expect gravity to take lava flows to the ocean from there .. A new Puu oo could be forming that could send lava flows heading to the ocean down in lower Puna like before .. If this eruption continues its imminent lava will be heading down towards populated areas … That’s telling it like it is !
