Will these shoes actually make me run faster? Or are they a bit of a gimmick? Let me know what you think in the comment section below.

i have had the carbon X since the beginning and love them. Bought the alphafly last year (but like you..) i have been saving them :-D I am going to test them out next week. I love the Nike invincible: this shoe has no carbon plate but only the zoom X foam... i love this shoe!! you're legs just never get tired because you don't feel the pounding.

I was curious too about those carbon plated shoes so I bought a pair of Nike ZoomFly 3, like a cheaper and less performant version of the Vaporfly. First time using them was quite weird, I felt "faster" but it was more a feeling than actual pace. It took me a while to get used to them cause my calves started hurting a bit. Definetely can't use them for every kind of run workout, only for fast pace runs or races. The stronger you push, the better the shoes will react (kind of obvious but I've noticed a difference compared to other shoes, brooks included). By the way, I'm not 100% sure that all the benefits are related to the carbon plate indeed they may be related to those new foams like pebax, zoomx etc (each brand has its own version let's say).

Hi Harry, my foot size is 25 cm without socks. So, would you plz tell me that which size should I use for Nike Vaporfly Next% 2? 26 or 26.5? which size can be the best and I can comfortably run and I will not feel loose when I run?

Saucony Endorphin Pro. The first run felt really weird, unstable and wasn't too sure those were the shoes for me. The second run went better and after that I start liking them. I'm only using them for tempo runs and for races. Just bought a new pair with the huge 35% discount so that was nice :D

I bought a pair of Vaporflys recently. Have run 5k and 10k lifetime PBs wearing them. I’m 54 so I’m pretty pleased to be seeing PBs at my age, regardless of the cost of the shoes.

I've got the Alphaflys and really notice a difference in easier leg turn over. Really prefer them on all faster runs or track workouts. I think everyone should have carbon plated shoes.

I’ve used the Endorphin Speeds
and Carbon X2. Have a pair of vaporflys on the way. Huge fan of the endorphin speed for anything 10k or less up tempo. Carbon X2 I use for longer runs but have to admit I’m slightly disappointed in the energy return especially for a carbon plated shoe. Look forward to trying out the Vaporflys

hey buddy. I think you will enjoy them once they are broke in a little since your feet are wide. I finally bought my first pair before a race last November and loveeee them. I use them for all my runs because they don't beat me up because they have so much cushion and they have really lasted a while. More than most shoes actually. I just bought a fresh pair for my Ironman this weekend, to use just for races, but the other pair has about 220 miles and they are still great and have about half life or more left I'd say.

Randomly ran across your channel & I just got the same colorway of the AlphaFly. I have the 4% original, and the Next %. All in all my take is the Next% is the best of the three. The AlphaFly while light and fast, with a better no-tongue upper (which Nike really should slap on the Next %), felt squishy/clunky and it less of a favorite of mine than the Next %. I have yet to get the Next% 2 upper--but that still has a tongue which for triathlon, is quite silly if it folds over so easy like the Next %. The responsiveness for a 70.3 or shorter would be a no-brainer I think for the Next %...it just feels more lively. The Alphafly I would tend to think would be better for a full Ironman due to the extra cushioning & stability for when you get more tired...but I won't know for sure since I'm done with Ironman 140.6's for the foreseeable future after 30 of them.

Nike should "marry" the two shoes AF & Next% by 1) adding the forefoot traction or better traction to the Next % 2) adding the AF upper to the Next %2 with the no-tongue. THEN we would have what I think would really be the ideal all-around triathlon shoe. You don't really need much for laces with the AF upper for a triathlon...just enough to keep any slop from shifting the shoe around.

Managed to get a pair of the Adidas ones, mad that they only release them in limited drops! But love them, and find the difference they make is night and day

I got mine when it first went out in the market. I figured out that I can hold on to them for 5 years if I keep them in a fridge... for 5 years. LOL. I'm also planning on using mine on race days only to preserve them and use Nike Pegasus 37 for training. I thought it's the closest feel that I can get from Vaporly Next %.

I got the Carbon X 2 a few months ago now and really like them. I definitely feel the response from the plate when doing faster stuff especially but when cruising along at marathon pace I'm still a good bit faster per mile vs my Normal Mizuno wave's. I tend to need a little support as I fatigue so still do most of the longer stuff in the mizuno's, plus the Hoka's wear out pretty quick (I wore a patch pretty badly towards the outside of the heal after about 150 miles because I sometimes get a bit heal strikey when the form drops under fatigue, But on race day I'll definitely take the Hoka's, I'm in zero doubt that I'm a fair few seconds per mile faster for the same effort in the Carbon X 2's. They arent as comfy as my other trainers but the speed gains are worth a bit of discomfort for me. Hopefully you find the same with the Nike's

Had two pairs of carbon x, each lasted just over 600 miles so it was well worth the extra money. Been great for training and racing alike for the speed and recovery gains. Now have a pair of carbon x 2 so will be interested to see how long they last.

Did my first run in my vaporfly’s on Wednesday. They are super fast and carried the speed easily. My calves have felt it since not sure if it was the change of shoe or the higher speeds but think I will save them for races and a few quicker training runs

It makes a huge difference. I have the first generation and the energy return is so noticeable

A few reasons for the price drop. A more distinct price difference between then next% and alpha fly. More competition now in the market with now every brand having a top end racing shoe. With the original they were THE shoe. Besides that possibly because they don't include the nike bag with next%2 like they did with the originals and they still do with the alpha flys. Also, maybe the cost of production is less than before.

Nike. Argon are a must for racing….I own the first two versions and will get the new ones when the first two wear out.

Well, there's this saying - nothing improves your running speed as much as consistent training ;) Like like it. Anyways, nice review and good job making the video! 👍

The soles on the Next % and Next % 2 are the same. Its the upper that has changed and made them cheaper.
