Not typing speed, but monkeytype fast typing test for touch typing, But 10fastfingers and keyboard settings on Monkey type, or any other typing speed test like that. This is a fast typing speed / keyboard typing with Monkeytype settings of type like increase the speed to learn type faster in 2024.

Wait, you just said it yourself. You turned on a setting to let you know when you should "rage quit" because you're typing slower than 100 wpm. This basically means your sampling is now biased toward collecting data on the runs that are faster than 100 wpm, so you're not typing faster ... you're biasing your sampling to automatically throw out the sub-100 wpm typing tests.

So you set up a cursor that shows when you are too slow so you can rage quit, resulting in a bad run not being recorded (I presume) and your average results improved? Iiinteresting...

I used to type at just around 80 WPM, and now I can comfortably type in the early 100's!

One thing that helped for me to break 170 WPM was using Tape Mode. It kinda acts as a crutch in reading speed, but can help as a temporary solution.

Just updated my settings to look the same + figured out how to add the on screen keyboard – even though i'm not a youtuber, I was thinking it might be quite useful for learning touch typing... I was just wondering, how you hit the "C" key when touch typing, for me it's my main road block because I find it difficult to hit it with my middle finger. I was wondering whether you had any tips in order to hit the key less awkwardly whilst still using the middle finger?

3:15 Well, actually 🤓☝"rage quit" is not a great idea, it may give you "higher scores" but those are only the good ones, and a person can only learn by making mistakes. The right way to use the second cursor is to use it as an "opponent". You can think of it as a race, if you lose, you lose but don't "rage quit" and accept your mistakes so you can "really" improve.
BTW, the tricks shown in the video works 👍
