Paleto Bay is a small town to the north of San Andreas. On the surface it may seem rather normal, but when taking a deeper dive into Paleto and its history, we learn more about the neglected town and all of its missed opportunities, so today we will be doing just that.

I spend a lot of time here in GTA online. The house there is small but its the closest thing to a beach house. The town is really peaceful. And most griefers don't bother people in Paleto Bay

Some cars have the customization option to put “1979 Rally de Paleto” sign which means Paleto Bay actually held some rally races like that in 1979

Tbh I think there are 3 reasons as to why paleto bay doesn’t do well from a town POV:
1. The Robbery of the bank in paleto ( The Paleto score ) from story mode may have hurt the reputation of the small town, and thus people don’t want to visit it ( if story mode takes place before online)
2. Also like in storymode, it’s stated in Lamar Down that the ballas use the sawmill in paleto to ship out weed, and if we consider the other mc businesses, bunkers and salvage yard, then there is a lot more illegal businesses in paleto than you think.
3. Lastly, Trevor mention in paleto score setup that the cops are crooked, so maybe the town officials are crooked as well.
Sorry if this is long, but that’s the ideas I have

I always thought the Car dealership never being finished was more of a reference to the 2008 Financial Crisis halting a lot of developments throughout the world. The world was still feeling it's effects in 2013, and the game references this a few times. It would make sense to a see an unfinished development like that still untouched in 2013

It’s a factory town. I think sometimes people forget that while GTA heavily relies on absurdism-satire it also makes a lot of basic social commentary. There are thousands of small factory towns all over the world that are effectively dead because a large factory or several large factories were built and the intent was to hope everyone in that town would simply aspire to work in said factories. Anyone reading this can find a town just like this wherever they live. The Industrial Revolution made lots of beneficial advances but it also created large expanses of space that have become legitimately derelict.

I'm a sheriff from Paleto Bay, I remember that on the day of the robbery I was on an emergency call in Chumash I arrived in Paleto Bay along with a train, my friend died that day.

Despite Paleto being far away from everything else, i kinda like it even though rockstar has a tendency to send us there during setup missions, but observing this small town it's alot better than sandy shores, its got everything you could ask for and there's a few businesses you could buy.

Thank you for making a video about Paleto Bay! Even though it may seem weird, but I like the town and all of my online property is in there. Yeah it may take 4-5 minutes to drive to Los Santos, but it's honestly worth the time for me.

Poleto bay could be just a village near a river bank that is connected to san fierro, Lester mentioned that the north part is just a river, not an ocean which make sense because no one treats Los Santos as an island

As someone who currently lives in Paleto Bay (in GTA online) it's a great place I got a house a front of the beach, whenever I feel like it I like to drive my caracara 4x4 through the forest I just wish I had a dog with me in the game. Also I wish if their was more activities to do up there it's a great place because of the low crime rate, although my neighbors once told me that there was a huge bank robbery before I moved there I wonder who the perpetrators were I guess I will never find out

Horses were intended to be in the game, there are horse models, horse noise sound files and voice clips of the story mode characters interacting with horses. And also there are the signs and even Martin madrazos house has a huge horse ranch

What a solid video, mate! I love Paleto Bay, I fell in love with this town. My only apartment is literally here, the 4584 Procopio. The scenery, the atmosphere, it just gave me a feel of calmness before starting to grind every time I log in. I don't mind travelling 10+ kilometres from the city to Paleto Bay, because it's such a rewarding feeling once I arrive there.

Since I'm a PS4 user, it's also a good thing to log in in Paleto Bay in public lobby, no FPS drop whatsoever since literally nobody's there. My bunker is in Paleto Bay, my Arcade is here too! I just fell in love with this place as a whole!

There's not just Cluckin' Bell in Paleto. There is also a sawmill, trolley to Mount Chiliad, and a pretty big complex with lumberjack statue near ocean

Small detail but the music choice was perfect for this video, really makes it whole.

The factory is there because the trains tracks run behind it. 9/10 just like with the rest of the United States, the train was there first before the town was.
Town probably only formed because of the railroad.
