No offense to Pires, but the fact Robbie tried to genuinely argue him over Ballon d'Or winning Ronaldo is shocking lol

You don't become record goalscorer for club and country by luck. Bergkamp was a great player but people forget how good Rooney was in his prime and always remember the last 3 years of his United career

So Robbie uses the combination argument when its suits him. Vidic and Ferdinand is one of the greatest combinations ever. Iam not even a united fan but i put aside my bias unlike some.

I’m an Arsenal fan and Pires was such a classy player, but 08 Ronaldo was a MONSTER!!! 40 goals, including unreal free kicks and long range shots. Won the league, champions league and the ballon d’or that year!!!

While discussing the perfection in partnerships upfront for Henry & Bergkamp, why doesn't the perfection in a partnership gets mentioned for Rio & Vida in defence?

To not include Rooney in this team is really shameful

Does Robbie not remember that Ronaldo won individual awards, like the Ballon D’or and Premier League player of the season, in 2008 as well? To say that Ronaldo didn’t contribute much that season is pretty irrational to say the least.

I'm a Liverpool fan so I have plenty of reasons to hate Wayne Rooney but he is criminally underrated. Prime Rooney was arguably the best striker in the world and there's only two maybe three Premier League strikers in history that should get in any team ahead of him.

As soon as I saw Rory was judging I knew this was gonna be an absolute farce 😂😂 no Rooney?!! It clearly should be Rio and Vidic, they’re literally the best partnership ever

Why when Ronaldo was discussed the arguement was “Only for that season”
But when Ashley Cole was discussed it was “he was the goat throughout his career”?

When did that criteria change?

As an arsenal fan I really don’t understand how Rooney is so underrated by fans….his record is undeniable…so good.

This is hilarious…Ronaldo scoring 42 goals, winning the league and champions league double & winning World Player of the year off of the back of that season is “JUST” ahead of Pires who scored 14 and wasn’t even the best player in his team in 2004🤣 Have a word Robbie, Jesus Christ! Never mind the rest…no Rooney?!🤣

I know it’s not all about stats but…
Rooney 07/08: 18G & 14A in 43
Bergkamp 03/04: 5G & 9A in 38

As soon as I saw him argue Pires over Ronaldo and actually decide Bergkamp over Rooney, I knew this team was done

What a disgrace leaving Rooney out. If they are as you say 'perfection', then they should've won everything there is to win and break every record there is to break. Another argument would be that you say the combination is perfection and that you can't improve on perfection, but empirically you've never seen an Henry-Rooney combination have you. Absolutely mad, mad disrespect to arguably the best United player in history

He should have fought way harder for Roomey up top

It's like he didn't care

You can't argue Rooney, I'm a Liverpool fan and Rooney is still to this day criminally underrated. Did noone watch the c**t play??

Huge respect to the magic of Bergkamp and his incredible partnership with Thierry, but people need to realise how elite a Henry/Rooney duo would be...

Neville was very consistent in 07/08, in the fact he was injured for almost all of it
