Man, you saved my day! 😊
I have been working on a complex project and I had to export a still frame to apply further effects starting from the same frame.
I did most of the VFX in Fusion, but I did not know about the option as mentioned by you at 2:19 (method 4).

So I simply used the 3rd method and tried to re-import the exported JPEG into the Fusion composition. But there was a difference with gamma, possibly to due color management...
I have been searching for workarounds and solutions for hours, but even the color space node could not fix the difference in Fusion.

But after I watched your video... BANG! All colors and gamma are matching each other on both pages!

Conclusion: I think most of the people who are new to DV Resolve would save a still picture from the File menu (or Color page if they are already into basic color grading).
Therefore if someone want that the still picture will match the colors in the Fusion composition, export it from Fusion!

I have been learning DV Resolve for 4 years now, but almost every day I discover new possibilities & of course bugs too 😆

When I export, it always exports a lut file as well. When I pull the image into photoshop elements it always looks washed out and I have to work on it a while. Any advice?

I have tried using Google to search for what I’m looking for. I’m so glad it’s possible to grab a still and export it. But that is something I rarely need to do. What I often need to do is I need to take a frame converted to a still that is then added to my media pool so I can use it in the project. Every time I try to search for this on YouTube or Google I always find methods for exporting. Do I really have to grab the exported then find it and then pull it back into my project why can’t I just grab a still and add it to my project?
