Hey everyone, I wanted to cover a few recurring questions:
1. I actually did pay $299 for this phone. That was not clickbait. Please watch the whole video to find out how
2. The fingerprint sensor is less safe than phones such as the S10, which uses ultrasonic fingerprint sensing
Copied directly from support.google.com:
"We strongly recommend locking your screen to help protect your phone. Your fingerprint sensor gives you a convenient unlocking option.
But there are a few things to keep in mind:

A fingerprint can be less secure than a strong PIN, pattern, or password.

A copy of your fingerprint could be used to unlock your phone. You leave fingerprints on many things you touch, including your phone."

Drop it in the water, you might lose it. Drop it on the ground it won't shatter like glass.

I drop my phones on the ground WAY more than in water.

I have no problem with plastic. Most people put cases on their phone anyway.

So I just got this phone and like it better than my s10e...I'll explain, this phone is light, cheap, just as fast, and NO duplicate apps!! Just what you need and that's it. Love the screen colors and the feel of the phone. Biggest thing thing is that I don't feel bad about putting a plastic case on it like I have on my all glass Samsung. What's the point of making glass phones if you cover it with a plastic case.... Never understood that. It's a 100% run out and buy for anyone.

Back in the day phones were made from plasti and the polycarbonate materials (lumia comes to my mind). It was a lot less of a schock if you drop it especially on it's back. Now when you drop it your heart stops because it matters little what side it is. It's all glass. And btw wireless charging is posiible even with a plastic back. I am guessing waterproofing can also be made into a thing. But it's better for companies to make them with glass and alum. so we can break and buy new ones more often. No conspirasy just businesses

Also, understand, it's a cheap, mid-range phone and if you want a phone with premium materials, then that's what the Pixel 3 and 3 XL are for. They are phones for people who don't want to spend much more than $ 500 dollars, it is absurd that they expect much more than what they offer, where the only thing I see bad is their internal memory, of 64Gb that should have been released with 128Gb, regardless of whether it came with 4Gb of RAM.

According to Google, P3 weighs 148g, P3A weighs 147g. You really could notice 1 gramme difference which makes it feel cheaper?

What makes you say the fingerprint sensor is slightly less safe than those on other phones? Just curious...that is the first time I've heard that. Thx

I don't think any aspects of this new phone are 'unfortunate'. It sounds like a very good buy. If you want everything, made from the most expensive materials, purchase a $1000 phone.

I'll show you how I got one for $129. Bought a refurbished Pixel 1 on Amazon. Took it to T-Mobile and got $400 off (via credits) Boom. $129 Pixel 3a

I've always have the best Android phones but with those high prices I wanted to wait what Google's got in I/O 2019. I was a little worry about the processor so I bought the Pixel 3a XL 3 days ago and can Surely tell you this phone it's fast, they optimized the software for The Snapdragon 670. Remember that having the best hardware doesn't equal best performance unless so have an excellent software management system.

I honestly think plastic and aluminium is the way to go on phones more durable than glass but there is a material that was on one of the Nokia lumia phones that could allow wireless charging

Edit I just fixed something

For me the killer is the non SD slot :( and the waterproof features, Other than that it sounds like a good phone.

I'm thinking about picking up the Pixel 3a today, switching from 8 years with the iPhone. I currently have an iPhone 8 that I still owe $350 on, but I can upgrade with Verizon to this phone for $349 and essentially break even, minus taxes and the upgrade fee. I'll lose wireless charging and having a waterproof phone, but I've never wirelessly charged my phone nor ever dropped a phone in water, so I don't think I'm losing much. I saw the leak for the new iPhone, and as much as I've loved the iPhone 4S through 8, I'm over it and ready for a change. I care more about an elegant OS and user experience than specs, and Android has come a long way, particularly on the Google Pixel. I tried switching to the Pixel 2 last year, but the design wasn't as good both in hardware and software, so I'm glad this phone has come out so I can give Android another chance. I've never had an Android before, but it feels liberating to finally leave the iPhone. I still love Apple and will continue to purchase MacBooks for personal use, but it's nice to finally broaden my horizons.

Great review! I have this phone as well and really like it a lot!

Prior to getting this, I was an iOS user for almost 7 years and I decided I wanted to tryout something different.

When I first heard about this, it was really a no brainer for me.

Btw, I came here from your brothers channel (Nate O'Brien) and you sound exactly like him! 😂

I'm getting one. Trading in from a S8+. Been w/ Samsung since 08' and I'm just tired of the os and never updates.
