Deadlock is officially here -- and people are going crazy for it.

So, Valve’s not so secret new game has been officially announced and with that, we are finally able to talk about it.

Saw XQC playing this on Kick, did some more research, and to my surprise Icefrog, the original creator of DOTA has been working on this game for 6 years 🤯😁 As a fan of both MOBA and FPS games i couldnt be more hyped!

I'll be honest, Valve's marketing (or specifically the lack thereof) for Deadlock is genius if it was intentional. They didn't have to spend a DIME to tell us to play this game and let people spread the hype by word of mouth and let it grow organically. That one week of "no, this game doesnt exist, but if it does just ask someone for an invite and you can get in" really leveraged people's desire for, hey there's a secret, i wanna be in on the secret, and just exploded the playerbase.

Remember they made a game called Artifact which just died in a few days. Valve also made a bad game before and no one played it.

Biggest part of Deadlock is that IceFrog is making it. I have about 5.5k hours in Dota2 and Deadlock just feels like it has his touch. In a way it feels like old dota2 even more than current version of it.
And also Lash is voiced by Johnny Cage TAKE MY MONEY

Valve were like "So every popular multiplayer game copies our stuff, why don't we take every copycat and put them in one game" and did an amalgamation of League/Dota/Overwatch/TF with Deadlock lol

The game's running like ass on my PC and I'm still having the most fun I've recently had in a competitive game. It can scratch your MOBA itch while also giving you some insanely fast-paced combat and movement.

Just Valve doing Valve things. Can't wait for the global launch!

That Roll->Dash-jump-> slide is so Warframe but at a reasonable speed!

I wouldn't trust anything Shroud has to say but yes, when this game officially comes out it's gonna go nuclear because it's a banger that plays pretty uniquely

Especially since the only competition is Predecessor, Gigantic and SMITE, all 3 of which even if they had their peaks combined still gets dwarved by Deadlock's CLOSED ALPHA player numbers and whose devs don't have the virtually unlimited amount of revenue like Valve

Furthermore the project is being lead by Icefrog, someone incredibly competent in their field and has good leadership so it won't suffer like CS2 has suffered...

love the game, and they said that anti cheat is a priority for them which is good to hear. Once the art is finished and gameplay is tweaked I think it will end up being around for a long time
