Product Spotlight: Chris Coleman Signature Stick

Vic Firth is pleased to announce the NEW Chris Coleman Signature Stick!

Christopher R. Coleman began playing the drums in church at the ripe old age of two. Today, he is one of the busiest touring and recording drummers on the scene, having worked with artists such as Chaka Kahn, Patti Labelle, Christina Aguilera, Randy Brecker, Prince, Beck, Stanley Clarke, Mike Stern, Larry Carlton, Stevie Wonder, David Sanborn and many more.

“My stick bag has been filled with so many wonderful Vic Firth sticks over the years,” says Coleman. “But I dreamed of having one superior model that I could cross all musical lines with. A stick that I could totally be myself with. With this new design, I’ve got it!”

The Chris Coleman signature stick is purposefully designed to create a full tone on drums and cymbals. With a short taper and an oval wood tip, this hickory stick is bold in its design and allows the player to deliver in many musical situations.

Chris adds, “I am so excited about my new stick and the musical possibilities I can personally explore. I have total trust in the tool itself and can focus strictly on my playing -- knowing that as I go, so goes the stick with me. Such a nice state of mind to be in as a player!”

I've played Vic Firth sticks for about a year and a half(As long as i've played drums) and I love the feel, quality and variety that they have, and when I saw these sticks, I was really excited to try them out, so basically when I got them, I broke them in about a month from how much I used them, they were amazing and were another example of how much work and care they put in their sticks, and yet another example why Vic Firth is the best.

Hi Chris, you are my last hope, brother. I am 63, and have been playing for 53 years, and time has taken its toll on my right hand with carpal tunnel syndrome. I had the surgery in April this yr., and I'd lost my grip strength in my thumb, and the surgery didn't fix that problem. I use Vic Firth 5B, and I think I need a heavier stick, and I am going to invest in your sticks hoping this will help me a great deal. So, I am hoping your stick will be the answer. Thanks for this video, it was just what I needed to see what size sticks you use. You're a real inspiration to this dinosaur ! Thanks!!!!

Amazing chris coleman! That is the same sentiment with me and the vf freestyle 5a. It can cover all genres, i have a lot of room on the kit and the sticks. With normal 5a and even 5b i felt limited on the fulcrum point on the stick, and liked to choke back towards the butt of the stick, so i was gifted a pair of steve gadd in highschool marching band, but it felt to short towards the taper. So when i found out about the freestyles I had to at least try them. I have never looked back.

I've been playing for 53 years, and I bought a pair of these sticks, and they are the best sticks, by far, that I have ever had in my hands. The fact that they are slightly longer than the average stick, plus the weight of them being heavier, makes such a huge difference. I'm a big guy like Chris, and so these sticks work out fantastically. The Only problem is, I cannot afford to pay the price for them. When one orders them online, you end up paying outrageous shipping costs plus the tax, and by the time it's all added up, you've invested 15 or 16 bucks in one pair of sticks. They're priced everywhere I look, at $10.49 or more per pair. :'^(
