Visually, it looks like it would work in this example, but these dimensions are merely illustrative. The width of that blue piece is 1 and its height is c/a. A half of it would be a rectangle of size 1x(c/(2a)). You're saying that (b/(2a))² = 2x(c/(2a)), which isn't always true.
