The 33-396 modular plug termination tool kit is designed and built to produce a high quality cable to connector termination at a lower price point for users that occasionally work with modular plugs. The compact size and shape of the tool fit comfortably in the palm of your hand and take up less space in your tool bag. The kit includes 20 modular plugs for making new cables or repairing existing installations – all you need in one package. This tool is for users looking for a basic, compact, functional tool that produces consistent quality results at our lowest price point.
The tool is an all in one design for terminating RJ-45 and RJ-11 or RJ12 modular plugs. It cuts, strips and crimps connectors on to CAT 3, Cat5e and Cat 6 cables. One tool for the entire assembly process of.
Using the tool to install a Cat 5e modular plug on Cat 5e cable is easy.
Step 1 unlock the tool and cut the cable to length using the built in cable cutter. Then score the outer jacket with the round cable stripper and remove 2 inches of the outer jacketing. Finally cut the internal rip cord in the cable using the cable cutter.
Step 2 fan out the 4 pairs in opposite corners where the pair naturally lays around the outer jacket. Done right the Blue pair is opposite the Green pair and the Brown pair is opposite the Orange pair. Then untwist and straighten all of the pairs all the way down to the outer jacket.
Step 3 layout the pairs in either the 568A or 568B wiring scheme from left to right. Then bend and straighten the pairs in multiple planes until the pairs are straight, in the correct order and side by side. Then trim the conductors to approximately ½ inch using the built in cable cutter.
Step 4 with the orange pair to your right insert the pairs into the Cat 5e modular plug with the gold pins facing you. Make sure the pairs are fully inserted into the connector and insert the modular plug into the RJ-45 crimping die in the tool and close the handle completely crimping the connector onto the cable.
Your Cat 5e modular plug is now ready to be used.

Can this tool also accept the plugs that let the wires extend through the plug? That makes it easier to verify the correct wiring before crimping. I know you have another tool that can do that.
