New TSB Fixes 2024 Toyota Tacoma transmission problems?

I just drove off the lot in a brand new Toyota Tacoma Sr automatic and I had complete transmission failure. The truck had 8 miles on it.

Sorry, I have driven manual transmission for 40 years. He did NOT shift from 5th to 1st. Not buying it

i drive an 04 manual tacoma and to go from 5th to 1st you would have to literally shove that thing into 1st to get it into there.. it would not be natural at all and would be very difficult to do

Been driving manuals for many years. As much as I hate to admit I have mis shifted myself and hit 1st instead of 3rd. I always got an immediate rev from engine and instantly knew to hit the clutch fast. When he supposedly hit 1st the failure was instant. Is the transmission made of glass.

I can imagine if my truck will have this issue after 60k miles, and they are going to replace the whole transmission, that will be a lot of money.

There is a TSB for 41, 000 Tacoma automatic transmissions per TRDjohn. They are replacing them.

Next time you talk to a Toyota rep, I'd be interested in knowing what percentage of their product lines are actually sold with a manual transmission.

As for the livestream question about subscriptions.... not a single penny. Zero, zip, naught, bupkis, nada, zilch; choose any term you like but I don't do subscriptions for things I already purchased.

Yeah... Bullcrap. He did not try going into first. He went from 5th to 3rd.

I was skeptical on the Toyota explanation of the Truck King transmission failure. Now we have this TSB.

He tried going from 5th to 3rd. Toyota claims that he made a mistake and went from 5th to 1st that's why it broke.

But why would anyone shift from 5th to 3rd on a flat road doing 50mph

Toyota quality has been goijg down for 20+ years. We went from a A750 5-speed that can handle A V8 and go 1 million miles . . .to this. ..

Like I’ve been saying it on multiple YouTube channels it’s called Poor quality parts and not inspected them closely before Assembled the transmission but Still falls back on Toyota engineers for using inferior or poor Quality dies to build the transmission parts

I thought TK tried to shift from 6th to 3rd when the transmission failed but, Toyota told them he shifted into 1st gear.
TK was sure he hit 3rd but, couldn’t swear to it!
I don’t know why anyone in a p/u would downshift that many gears? It’s not a race care and isn’t equipped with a a dual clutch system but he is Canadian. ;)
