You're about to run the marathon of your life, and you NEED to eat. Most midwives and even doctors allow laboring moms to consume some calories during labor but some hospitals still restrict food intake. Talk to your medical team about this issue..

Here are my tips:

Early Labor: Eat what you crave and make it a meal. This could be your last substantial meal for some time, so eat up!

Active Labor: Choose easy-to-digest foods like fresh or dried fruit or a Larabar.

Transition and Pushing: Think liquid nutrition! Diluted juices, labor day tea, and coconut water are perfect.

Here's my quick list of labor snack favorites:

Nut butters, trail mix, protein bars, honey sticks, dried fruit, dates, energy balls, coconut water, & electrolyte drinks.
