“What evidence would convince you” is a tacit admission by apologists that they have no evidence for their propositions. Teachers don’t ask their students “what would convince you that the earth was 4.5 billion years old?”, they just demonstrate the various ways we come to know the age of the earth & how the students could do it too. Same for electricity, nuclear fusion, dinosaurs or micro-organisms, if it exists there’s an ability to demonstrate it & that’s what you start with.

Apologists on the other hand have no actual support for supernatural claims, and fall back to subjective emotional appeals about given topic (i.e. gods, magic, ghosts, etc), with no demonstration/method for how to observe these things or interact with them. Yet to them, their subjective emotions are enough “evidence” but they then wonder why compared to things we know about reality, their ideas aren’t given the same credence. Don’t ask people what would convince them, demonstrate what you claim & let the evidence speak for itself.

I love how this question is always thrown at the athiest and not the other way round. This is normally because the athiest is commited to evidence and is willing to accept they would change their mind where as the thiest will answer back they know they are right.

I've asked many a thiest this question when they've asked it to me and always had the same answer. Nothing would convince them because they know they are right. And athiests are the arrogant ones.

A natural explanation is always the default and superior, because we don't even have evidence that the supernatural exists.

'The bible was written by Satan' is a claim within the doctrine of Christianity that can not be refuted. Many people follow the rules of a book that they believe was created by an all-powerful being, but they can't confirm which being or their intentions 😂

I love the dumb smirk theists get when an atheist says "I don't know". They think it's a 'gotcha' because they see it as a defeater to ever say that.

God knows not only what would convince me, but if anything would convince me. One of two things is true for me an atheist: either God made me in such a way that he knows that there is no evidence which exists that could convince me, yet he made me anyway, and plans to punish me for not believing him. if that is not the case, then God knows exactly what evidence will convince me, and he has as of yet decided to not expose me to that evidence. Neither of these circumstances are under my control

What does it even mean for something to be super natural.

Natural includes things like Space, Time, Matter.
Supernatural would have to be excluded from all of these things.

To say that something exists/existed would be to say that it is present at some place in space, at some time. Anything supernatural cannot be in a place in space, and it cannot be at any time, else it would be natural. So the supernatural just... Doesnt exist in the ways that we know things to exist.

Moving the burden to the one asking for evidence. You don’t get to suggest “your requirements are unfair” when your evidence is poor; if god is all powerful he can ensure the evidence is good.
