Triumph Rocket is a winner over that HD !

Harley Davidson is two decades behind the manufacturing quality, riding dynamics, fit and finish and reliability of Triumph. So it's not a fair comparison really.

There was no reason for this comparison ! Rocket is miles ahead in Technology, Performance, Refinement and handling!

Was a very easy choice - that's why I bought the Rocket. For the guy below that hates rider modes - you can turn it all of on the Rocket - better to have extras and not use them....

As a Harley guy, I was looking forward to riding the FXDR 114 because I heard a lot of hooplas about it; I wasn't impressed with it at all, I was disappointed with it actually. I did try out the Triumph Rocket 3 and was very impressed with the power that it had. I just wish they had more dealerships that sold Triumph.

This is like comparing fine dining with a can of beans. Seriously, who would compare these two. I don't even dislike Harley but they're clearly not even in the same league.

I’m looking forward to the aftermarket cans to appear for the Rocket 3 🤩 Even with the extra cost of new pipes, it’s still far better value for money and pretty much the ultimate bike IMO

I’ve had a couple Harleys. They only have asthmatic mode.

I own a 2019 HD FXDRS 114. Purchased it new. I have 20k miles on it. Just normal maintenance. Stage one now. Soon stage two. Stock 0-60 mph 2.5 seconds. Top speed 160 mph. I’ve had it upto 121. Smooth and minimal vibrations. Need an aerodynamic helmet in triple digits. It can lean 32 degrees on either side. Nimble. Very nimble. I can take corners at 45 mph with a few fingers on the throttle. Other hand in my lap. Accessories are hard to find but they are out there. It is considered a custom bike. So generally you need custom parts. It’s not for everyone but anyone who has truly riden the FXDRS can’t deny how smooth and fast it is. Also their is ABS front and rear. Also, HD corporate informed me the calibers on the FXDRS are Brembo. The deal was that Brembo makes the calipers once, only once for it with the HD name on them. This can be confirmed with corporate. I’ve never riden the triumph rocket three. I must say, this guy generally threw HD under the bus. Lol. I would love to drag race the Rocket 3.

This was over before it started. HD hoping name will building a bike WORTH buying. Looks are purely a subjective thing. The Harely looks like it's made out of legos. Performance and options ZERO contest. If you don't like all the "nanny" controls....turn them off. Using those as a reason to not buy a bike that is the same price as a bike without any of those Let's count all the new and exciting things about the Harley Let me please pay top dollar for that cutting edge (old and tired) air cooled V-twin tech.

I have a 2013 Triumph Thunderbird Storm. Triumph lists it at 97hp and 115 lb-ft of torque, stock. It has almost identical hp numbers as the FXDR and only 4 lb-ft of torque less. The T-bird has a 104 cu inch engine, or 1699cc. Ten cubic inches less than the HD, and about $5000 cheaper. I got Triumph's shorty pipes installed when I bought it, and the dealership also removed the catalytic converter. I did the air box removal kit from British Customs and installed a Power Commander V, along with getting it dyno tuned. It now puts 118 lb-ft of torque and 105 hp to the real wheel. Exhaust, new air box, PCV, and tune were about $1500. HD cant touch that performance for that price.

Harley should bring back the vrods. Excellent motorcycles.

I like what you said about the Harley being “theater”, because that rumble and feel is not to be diminished when riding a feet forward cruiser. I own a Fat Bob 114 that has Stage 2 mods. Even with that setup, I know it doesn’t compare to the stats of the Triumph. But it is still so much fun to ride. When I want more performance and tech, I hop on my BMW K16B. Two totally different bikes, but I love riding them both. I just wish there was room in my wallet and garage for a Rocket. And a Street Triple RS, Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP, etc...

An interesting comparison and rather valid for Europe. However, the Rocket3 is sold out in the States, home of Harley Davidson. That said, I'd buy both and ride both, if I had the money. Either way, if you're riding, you're doing it right, no matter the bike you're on. Ride what you love, no matter the brand. Still, I find comparisons like this valuable just from a spec standpoint. It's also nice to see the feature sets compared. The most valuable thing about this video is the information presented allows riders to make the right decision for them. Excellent work, mate!

It would have been better to put the 117 cubic inch version of the HD, into the fight. But it would still lose against this Triumph. In-fact every muscle bike will lose against this awesome Triumph. It is the king of the hill. Massive power and it's not even ugly. GT or GTC.

The worst Harley and being deleted from their range. Wont be missed.

I don't think that tech ruins the riding experience. If that be the case, we can't even stand the sight of a Ferrari or Lamborghini let alone litre class suprebikes. We live in the 21st century and technology is a part of our life. Without the electronics all these powerful machines would bring more profit to morticians than the manufacturers. I've been riding motorcycles (small capacity) for the last 22 years and I won't consider riding even an RC390 without ABS.
Anyways, thanks a lot for the video. During the lockdown motorcycle reviews are hard to come by. But, I'm happy to watch one from the best in the business. Keep it up.

After riding the Ducati StreetFighter V-4S, I don’t want to ride anything else, also we all have limited time to go for a ride, might as well do it on the StreetFighter V-4S !!! Bike hits all 5 senses !! Its

The FXDR114 is not a power cruiser in any way. While the 114 is a nice motor it puts out nothing for power. Even the Indian Challenger motor liquid cooled 108CI destroys the 114.
If you want a power cruiser to test against the Triumph you should use the Suzuki M109R. Now that is a beast.
It’s the only cruiser I’ve ridden that power up to 246KPM in a heartbeat.
