Just thought I'd add that baby oil and of course odorless mineral spirits with a brush, is used to blend oil pastels!

I ordered a bunch of expensive oil pastel colors by mistake. Decided not to return them but challenge myself to learn how to use them. I’m coloring in a black and white coloring book. I’m disabled and needed distractions from pain and this seems to be a good thing to focus on. I can do them any time, day or night, and put them away. Thank you!

omg thank you so much!!! i have been wanting to draw with oil pastels for awhile, keep getting inspired to do so but it seemed like i was doing something wrong or was missing something. but this helps and made me feel loads better. simply oil pastels aren't the greatest but they'll help to practice.
