Notes to self, 1. when cleaning the stove pipes in a log cabin in an isolated area, have a friend or family member there in case something happens (like the ladder falling and you being trapped on a roof) and/or bring your phone so you can call for help. 2. Make sure you have screws that you can unscrew on the stovepipe to clean out the soot and tar, and 3. Always have provisions in your isolated cabin that you don't have cook in case your stove doesn't work.

Please add “sweep chimney” to your list of summer chores. Also, only do this when someone else is at the cabin with you.

NO! You have to get a safety rope attached to that roof...my partner and I were stressed seeing you climb over that snow and ice...you could have plummeted to the ground! And don't go up on the roof when you are alone! We are building an off grid property outside of Boulder, Colorado on our 135 acres...me, my partner, and our little Jack Russell named Hattie...We always watch your videos for inspiration...and realize that if you can do it...we should be able to do it...if we were lucky enough to win the print it would hang in our current apartment reminding us of our goal...and then end up over our mantle when the cottage is completed...We would welcome you to visit whenever you wished....Warmest wishes to you Kalle...Thanks for sharing your experiences...Steven, Jim, and Hattie :)

Man I can relate to this 100%. I live off-grid in Northern Alberta, Canada. The middle of nowhere. This winter I locked out my batteries because my AutoStart Generator was low on oil and didn't kick in. I had no idea what had gone wrong. I thought I'd blown my inverter and was going to be down for days before I could get a new one installed. All the while it was -20c and I have two small children. I had to control my panic. My wife was a trooper and managed the children while I troubleshot the system from top to bottom. Thank goodness I still had internet on my phone. I had to boost the failsafe on the batteries with another functional battery to get them to read charge again. And after refilling the generator I managed to get it up and running again in about three hours. That was just one of three critical mishaps this winter. You learn as you go. My biggest thing is learning to deal with the panic and try take a breath and tackle each problem as they come with as much grace as possible. It helps to have a cool headed woman around as well.

I would hang this beautiful picture in my café with "the swedish touch" in the south of Vienna☕. With my café, I'm trying to establish the Swedish fika tradition and the relaxed lagom attitude of the Swedes in Austria🇦🇹❤🇸🇪. And what could be nicer for my guests than enjoying an oven-fresh kanelbulle or a Swedish almond cake while admiring this breathtaking picture🤩?

How lucky that you made it back down from the roof safely, Kalle👍😅!

Kalle, you could do with a roof ladder that hooks onto your ridge to keep you safer when climbing up for repairs etc. Take care.

You see Kalle, Universe is teaching you in this way. How we, our generation, miss ancestors who would explain us from childhood basic things...

Hej Kalle- one of the top ER accidents here in USA are ladder accidents….very serious accidents. Be sure to teach your little son ladder safety, Papa’s job from father to son. So glad you were not lying out there alone in the snow over night! ❤❤❤❤❤

Kalle, I’m currently living in a very small 3m x 5m home, but for me, it’s more than just a temporary space—it’s a reminder of the dream I’m working toward. My goal is to move to Sweden and build a similar cabin, embracing the simplicity and connection to nature that you so beautifully capture in your videos.

Right now, I’m studying so that my career will support my dream of moving to Sweden. Every step I take is with that goal in mind. If I were to win this print, I would hang it as the centerpiece of my home—a daily reminder of where I’m headed. Every time I look at it, I’ll see the future I’m building, the quiet life in the north, under the same skies where the auroras dance.

Whether I win or not, I just want to say thank you for the inspiration you share. Your journey and way of life resonate deeply with me, and I can’t wait to make this dream a reality. All the best to everyone entering!

I am agreeing with so many people who have commented here. I'm old enough to be your mother and I also have a son that you so much remind me of. And I was panicking watching you go up on the roof alone. I would have told you not to go up while you were alone with no one around. I hope you at least had your phone with you. I don't live in a cabin in the middle of nowhere, but I do live on the edge of a forest on the edge of a small town in Georgian Bay Canada. And if I was lucky enough to win your print I would put it right in my living room where everyone could admire it and it would bring me much peace and serenity, to see it everyday. I love watching your videos and I love all your prints. Take care Kalle and send love to Christine and August. xxx

I have an empty wall in my rented apartment that I’ve been meaning to decorate. I’ve already put up some lights, but that one wall is still bare, just waiting for something perfect. Your print would be amazing there! I also make videos where I play guitar and sing, so it would be the perfect background to complement my videos. Plus, I travel a lot and live in different places, so I’d always take it with me. It would be like carrying a piece of inspiration wherever I go!❤

LOL! I'm originally from the Netherlands and we used to eat our pancakes with syrup. As for the weird, fun fact... When I was a kid, my mom always made me porridge for breakfast before school, and instead of just eating it on a plate with a spoon.. I wanted my porridge RUNNY, so she'd add so much milk that I could sip it up with a straw! And I still ate (sipped) it from a PLATE ... but basically had "porridge drink" every morning. Nowadays you'd call it a smoothie, but back in the late 1970's that did not exist yet!

Kalle,

My grandmother has an oil painting of a cabin overlooking a lake with a backdrop of mountains that I grew up with. She always had it in her living room and I always loved it. When my grandmother passed away nearly 10 years ago I inherited this oil painting.

This painting now hangs above the mantle of my fireplace in my living room.

I would hang your print in my living room (not exactly sure where in the room) to join my grandmother's oil painting as it follows a theme of cabins and mountainous landscapes.

Also I'm glad you were able to get safely off your roof!

If I was lucky enough to win this picture I would hang it in my bedroom so I could dream of one day seeing the northern lights in person. ❤
