Every time Labour has been in office they've just racked up more debt on the country's credit cards.

You would think working class people would get it by now. A vote for Labour is a vote for tax rises and inflation, then subsequently higher interest rates. Labour abandoned the working classes decades go.

Yet people who claim they are struggling to pay the gas and electricity bill, or struggle to buy food or complain their tax has gone up still vote for Labour.

My aunty voted Labour this last election purely on the basis my grandfather voted for Labour all his life (He died about 30 years ago). What a shower.

I had the advantage of growing up with no political allegiance to a specific political party. As the son of one parent who's family all voted Labour and the other parent who's family all voted Conservative, I was brought up with being a genuine floating voter. I've never been under any pressure from anyone else, or influenced by anyone else to vote a certain way. I grew up in a household where I was taught to study political policy for myself, to have my own political views and then to vote for whoever represented my views and not those of my father or grandfather.

For this to happen something had to exist back then that is sadly lacking in today's society. That thing was mutual respect for people to have the right to hold different political opinions to one another. To debate respectfully and shake hands afterwards. To agree to disagree.

Today if someone holds different political views then they are a racist or fascist who must be got rid of. Where did all this intolerance and hatred for anyone with differing views come from?
