Gas meter fire in Jefferson Park awakens neighbors to loud explosions

Fire crews worked to put out a fire burning rows of gas meters outside a Jefferson Park apartment building. Neighbors in the area called 911 after hearing loud explosions at the site, thinking they were gun shots. No injuries were reported, but residents did lose gas service.
