MONITOR LIZARD STANDING ON TWO LEGS?! (Varanus prasinus)

Basil the green tree monitor lizard (Varanus prasinus) has come a long way in his taming! As you can see here, I am feeding him some canned grasshoppers (he LOVES them)! When food is out of reach tree monitors possess a unique set of skills they can use to get to food in hard to reach places. One of them is to rise up and stand on their two hind legs. It’s quite impressive to watch a lizard effortlessly stand up on two legs. These animals never cease to amazing me!

My baby bearded dragon (4-5 months old) is so in love with it’s food that it will jump half way across it’s enclosure to try to get it, no food is unattainable in it’s world, it’s crazy and cute seeing my Pancake going crazy running and jumping all over the enclosure as soon as the food jar is within eye sight, lol (and no it’s not starving or anything, my Pancake is well fed)

Man Basil is so smart! he just yoinks the cooked grasshoper out of those tongs and goes right back into his terrarium!
