The rose is clearly the strongest in verse

Edit:don't go into the response section as clearly everyone didn't read hxh to not understand how meruem lost to humanity using technology aka evolution to destory a being that is basically the strongest natural being in the world. Can't make it more simple than that.but apparently humanity also has the ability to unlearn as much as hxh shows having evolution

Fun fact, in the Hunter Encyclopedia guidebook that came out shortly before the climax of the Chimera Ant Arc actually says that the moment he was born he was the strongest being in history

'Netero having double aura means that he could fight twice as longer, hit twice as hard, and twice as quick'
=> 'So Meruem will just need double the time to kill him'

That seems like a wrong oversimplification🤔
The 1000th ranked boxer would probably be knocked out by the 1th ranked in less than 15 minutes.
However if the 1000th rank would have his speed and power doubled, the champ would not stand a chance.

Back to HxH, I'm not saying Netero would have won. But that reasoning is definitely off.

If Meruem was "playing Gungi without his 2 strongest pieces", then Netero being twice as fast would be like having 2 sets of every piece. It would be monumentally more difficult for Meruem to find an opening. More than a 2x difficulty increase, and perhaps not even possible.

And even though Old Netero was half as powerful and wailing on Meruem for half as long, it's stated that those hits were still enough to make Meruem's body ache. It's definitely not obvious that Prime Netero doing twice as much damage for at least twice as long wouldn't be enough to critically injure him.

For those caught up with the manga, meruem's (and the chimera ant's) strength really put into perspective how dangerous the creatures of the dark continent are. 3 of the most talented nen users ever (one of them being a prime Netero) barely survived the trip. Its likely they encountered beings close to meruem in strength there. And they had to essentially run away.

No nen user by themselves can take on a dark continent threat like meruem.

Twice the aura would mean twice the output in a fight for twice as long? That math don't check out

It’s also possible Netero was trying to minimize how much stronger he was! He was in he’s prime in terms of physical. strength, speed, endurance, time of reaction and then NEN. Perhaps he was more than twice he’s peak and he would be able to use the zero hand more than once with less of a physical damage. Being way faster, stronger and having more than twice he’s nen capacity could’ve make him almost invulnerable since he’s buddha technique is perfect in terms of defense. One has to be wayyy stronger in order to break the Buddha technique defenses.

Man this just sucks and makes my GOAT Netero seem so damn weak. 😭😭

Honestly the whole fight felt like Meruem was playing around. I doubt we have ever seen the king break a sweat.

Hi, I like your videos, but I have to object to some of your conclusions in this one. If we take it as you said, Prime Netero has all stats doubled (Aura amount, Aura output, Attack power, and Speed), but it does not equate to the fight simply being twice as long.

These two characters can have a serious fight for several minutes without any one of them being able to ''score any points''. But then one of them makes a slight mistake which leads to him losing. But even tho Meruem won the fight, he was still taking and accumulating a little bit of damage in the form of slight dull pain in his joints... as was stated by the narrator.

If we double every stat (Aura, Strength, Durability, Speed) of Netero I feel it would be more complicated than you made it to be.

Netero's attacks being twice as powerful and twice as fast means Meruem would start to feel the dull pain at least in half the time he did originally (so around 4 minutes in). But what is worse, twice as fast reaction and movement speed, means Netero would punch Meruem faster = Meruem would probably recover (back into an attack) a bit slower... Plus in Netero's perception he has twice the time to decide how to perform every single move/attack, which would obviously lead to fewer mistakes, if any at all... (because as it was in the original fight, Meruem was pushing Netero to his speed limit), but if Netero was 2x faster, this would not be the case.

But let's say Netero lasts (ONLY) for 16 min without a single mistake, well then he is still 2x faster than originally, so even if Meruem's accumulated joint pain does not affect his speed, Netero should still be able to perform a second prayer+attack before Meruem reaches him. So not only does Netero have twice the time to decide HOW to attack, but even if he misses he probably can perform a second attack.

I personally would estimate the Netero's 2x faster internal perception of time ON ITS OWN... would make the fight drastically longer than just double the 8 minutes. (My lowball estimation would be 30 min, but 2x speed is just brutal, so a few hours is possible as well in my opinion)

And if we add to this equation the accumulating joint pain of Meruem, which could and over time should make him slower, plus the possibility that Netero could be able to perform a second attack after he misses the first one.

(of course, I have no way to prove that I'm correct... but literally, all of this is just speculation... But what I'm trying to say is that (in my opinion) you underestimated doubling every stat of Netero (especially the speed).

With all that said in this scenario Netero might not even need to use the zero-hand because if the stress on Meruem's joints, bones, and body as a whole accumulates for a long time enough (and Netero can last that long) Then Meruem could just drop exhausted on the ground, or his bones, and joints might start to break... ext...

Do I think it would realistically end that way... No.

The first thing is that Netero trained before the Meruem fight, so he was probably closer to his Prime power (my estimate is around 70%-80%).

But mainly, even if Netero was 2x strong in his fight with Meruem, I believe Meruem would see he has no real chance in his current state. Thus Meruem would be pushed to finally create his own NEN ability, in mid-battle, after which he would completely and overwhelmingly crush Netero with low difficulty.

I hope what I wrote makes sense. Thanks for reading.

Netero went to the Dark Continent, a place with creatures stronger than chimera-ants, and he survived

If his base attacks have enough power to slightly negate Mereum's resistance and eventually get his body to ache, then doubling the damage and speed would actually cause damage.
A weird analogy, but if you make 100 and have to pay 99, you are left with 1. But if you make 200, and you pay 99, you are left with 101. That isnt exactly how this would work here, but still it would be more than doubling the damage.

Basically in a nutshell, to low ball, Meruem was roughly a dozen times stronger than Netero, and him only being two times stronger would not make a difference. He would still get one shotted if Meruem tries to kill him for real.

Just caught up to the manga and is wondering how was this even a discussion in the community and majority actually believes Netero wins bruh

netero is an enhancer but it was never really stated how the 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva is really operated but it not an enhancer technique. most likely conjuration and manipulation with the enhancement on his physical body to sense and move faster, but he may have enhanced the statue's strength as well. Point is it is not an enhancer hatsu it's either conjuration or emission

If he was two times as fast and had two times as much output meruem would have a ridicously harder time to reach him. Realistically it would be a stalemate as far as fists go, as with that level of speed difference there wont be any opening no matter how tactical you are. I dont think meruem is ever hitting him physically before hes wounded. Instead I think meruem would win because he would learn to use hatsu to kill him. Being an emitter, and with his aura, he would only need to hit him with a beam or something of that sort and netero would die. I still think zero hand would do significant damage, as in the anime it looked like meruems nen defense atleast failed to a weak degree, and with double that it should really hit hard, not enough to kill meruem but not ridiculoisly far off either

You interpreted the “toddler throwing a tantrum” quote wrong. That quote is in reference to the slight discharge MERUEM let out and it was only a small bit of his own full power. Thats why NETERO jumped back. The narrator says that discharge was enough to make NETERO double the distance between them. Because he felt meruems aura

Meruem got some bruises, not a single true injury, and was holding back making sure he wouldnt fatally injure Netero. Its not close man Meruem was on another level entirely, imagine if he had like, an extra month to grow up and learn Nen, let alone years.

Doubling all stats doesn't work like that. It's exponential growth. It would be x² because all basic stats are higher. Double speed increases force, double strength further increases speed and force, double nen further increases all stats, double endurance allows you to work harder for longer periods of time further increasing all stats.

What people genuinely forget is that meruem was doing all of that at only at roughly 40 days old imagine if he was given a year.
