In the Rapunzel series, they say that Rapunzel mom was an adventurer and not actually royal at first, which could be that she maybe was related to Anna and Elsa's mom from the forest

In Frozen 2 it states that there are 5 spirits including Elsa. Although, there are actually 8 and they balance out each other, Earth and Wind, Lightning and Water, Ice and Fire, Sun and Moon (or light and darkness or something like that). And it is a theory that Rapunzel is both the Sun and Moon element.

Let's hope that Frozen 3 will put a close to all the pending Tangled theories.

Well there are 2 pending theories as of this time. The existence of Frozen and Tangled in same universe, and them being cousins (well unsure if Queen Arianna is sister of Iduna or Agnarr). Well there are Tangled related things in other Frozen media, like in Dangerous Secrets where Iduna mentioned that they are going to a wedding of someone (though nothing who is mentioned), and in Forest of Shadows where Corona is mentioned.

But Elsa wasn’t locked up due to the fear that someone would take her, she was locked up to protect Anna her sister and to try to keep her magic a secret.

But we also found out in frozen 2 that Elsa has powers from her mother, meaning that the mother and Rapunzel’s mother/father are related. Also Rapunzel’s hair turns brown when Eugene/Flynn cuts her hair looking similar to the mother of Elsa just supporting this theory further

Elsa's parents had travel because of Elsa according to how will they learn to control Elsa's power. And they're journed to the black sea . Sis😊

The thing is, the creator of both tangled and frozen herself said at some point(before frozen 2) that Elsa's parents were going to rapunzel wedding. So it could still somehow be true after frozen 2 if she invent some gimmick to explain it.
It would make sense mainly because they're the only magical princesses so far, and their films seem to be going on almost at the same time (three years apart), making Elsa and Rapunzel the same age. The theory is that they're twins, and kids of Rapunzel parents. But Elsa got separated and sent to her uncle/aunt after Rapunzel kidnapping, to protect her, which would make sense if we see how different Elsa is compared to her family, including the very light hair. Elsa can create life like Rapunzel, since she created Olaf, and some other snow creatures. Her ice powers could be explained, because I believe the creator also said that Elsa got her ice powers because she was the 100th kid to born in the winter solstice.
But let's be real, she probably just changed her mind in the second movie lol :(

In the series it shows that Rapunzels mum was an adventurer and married into royalty and that could mean Elsas mum and Rapunzels mum we’re actually sisters and lived in the forest and in frozen 2 in the forest Elsa was talking to a woman who looks very similar to Rapunzels mum

Elsa wasn't "locked" away. She was only put in a room because she couldn't control her power, so her parents were afraid she might her people again like when she hurt Anna as a child out of fear.
