I find it weird that this model is exactly what the Army taught us through daily practice and training without ever referring to any of this. We called it operant training, or in "formal" parlance, discipline. Know what to do, how to do it, focus on your task, identify your authority and do not exceed it while identifying the authority of others and following their instructions, bonding with the team, and regulating your emotions in a way that turns even fear into an asset. Great stuff here.

Snakes... OMG I can still remember when I was about 2 years old, waking up in the night and the wrinkles on the the quilt looked like snakes in the dark.
