'I Was Lost At Sea After Falling Off My Kayak' | Our Life

Dad-to-be Dan, 32, a nurse, is making the most of a day off work to go fishing off the Welsh coast in his kayak. The conditions seem good and Dan's an experienced kayaker, but he gets swept into the sea by a freak wave and unable to right the kayak, finds himself drifting further out to sea in the strong currents. Increasingly exhausted and at risk of hypothermia, he's faced with an impossible choice between holding on to the kayak and drifting further out to sea, or letting go and trying to swim back to shore. Meanwhile, 31 year-old Steve has just returned from surfing when a passer-by alerts him to the possibility that a kayaker has got into trouble off the coast. Steve makes a split-second decision to head back into the dangerous waters to try and find and rescue the kayaker.
