it kinda sounds like Cheryl Lynn's "Star Love" (that was released in 1978); from her debut album (the music/melody background. it is definitely a Dance Floor banger... with the legendary Scream Queen, Jamie Lee Curtis = "Halloween" (1978) vibes; mixed in with "Carrie" (the original (1976) Sissy Spacek version); "(A) Nightmare on Elm Street" (maybe). Like Prom Night, Halloween, Carrie and Nightmare On Elm Street also had it's sequels (whether it be: films, TV movies, or a TV series).
