How come so many fail to mention the importance of inhibitory interneurons in Gate Control Theory? I'm a Swedish Physical Therapy student halfway through my program. We've learned that A-beta fibers according to books about pain, are activated by stimulation like touch, or high frequency TENS-treatment that are connected to interneurons that will inhibit the C-fibers and thus reducing the pain. Can someone comment on this?

Big time fail!! Correction: A-delta and C fibers are pain receptors. A-delta is myelinated, faster than c fibers, but slower than a-beta fibers.
You need to do a-beta video hahaha

I thought it was A delta fibers? Not A beta?

No A BETA is correct - a delta is a pain neuron but the whole concept of gate theory is that the pain fibres are blocked by the stimulation of a touch neuron at the same time, thereby blocking the transmission along pain receptors

I dont think that pain stimulates A-beta!
