Imagine you have 70 thousand dollars in the bank and you buy a house for 65 cents, that's how much his house is worth compare to his fortune...

Why live in a big mansion with 80% of the house unused when you can live comfortably in this decent home.

When your are that rich, you are happy knowing you could have anything you want and realize you have everything you want.

For everyone that's saying "652k is not modest". Think about it for a second this guy is worth 70 billion dollars with that kind of money you could buy any house in world and the fact that he's living in a small house like this is pretty humble compared to other billionaires like Mukesh Ambani that literally has a 27 STORY building house in India worth 3 billion dollars...so yea 652k is pretty modest

You make an excellent case! . I’ll add 1 more point… Seeing my monthly dividend income grow is EXTREMELY motivating to continue investing . Buying growth makes sense intellectually, but during a bear market, watching my growth portfolio shrink…the motivation isn’t as high as it is for dividend investing. A lot of this is psychological!

The idea is to be rich not look rich! His house is lovely.

He’s been living in that house for half a century. It has a huge sentimental value and cannot be replaced.

After selling a couple of houses in 2020, I'm hoping for a housing crisis in order to buy cheaply. I've been thinking about buying stocks as a backup plan. What are your recommendations for the best time to buy? On the one hand, I keep reading about traders making over $500k per week. On the other hand, I keep hearing that the market has gotten out of hand and is in the midst of a dead cat bounce. What causes this to happen?

Classic example of rich staying rich by acting poor and the poor staying poor by acting rich.

Probably has an underground Professor X Cerebro style cave which can predict stocks from years ahead...you heard it here first. Dude's part of the X-Men.

Living in a humongous mansion, which he could easily afford, would feel much like living in a hotel.

Man if I was his age I would probably want a single story home. Bad knees run in my family lol

I love how he said if he wasn't happy there he'd move someplace else. Because that's what its all about...happiness. It's not about fulfilling people's expectation. It's about satisfying your own heart's content.

That's "modest" for HIS means. But it's a beautiful home, with enough space and well taken care of.

Then you'll see rappers making their first million and buying a 50 million dollar house, without any more money to pay for it.
