Season 2, Episode 3, "Psy vs psy": Shawn may have met his match when an FTD (Federal Treasury Department) agent (Lou Diamond Phillips) brings in a female "psychic" (Bianca Kajlich) to solve a counterfeiting case, but after an attraction develops between the two, Shawn manages to solve the case and prove himself as the "true" psychic.

Psych Synopsis: "PSYCH" is a quick-witted dramedy about a young police consultant Shawn Spencer (James Roday, “The Dukes of Hazzard”) who solves crimes with powers of observation so acute that he’s convinced Santa Barbara PD detectives into thinking he's psychic. Raised in Santa Barbara by a family of cops, Shawn possesses uncanny powers of observation honed by his police officer father, Henry, who drilled young Shawn to note even the smallest of details from his surroundings as a way of grooming him for his inevitable career in the family business. With the reluctant assistance of his best friend Gus, Shawn uses his skills of observation and charismatic personality to become the detective he was trained to be, opening his own PI agency - Psych - and solving cases for an ever-suspicious, but grudgingly impressed, police force.

Psych always had great episodic characters, wish some of them were in more episodes. Lars vs Lassie was so funny.

I love the opening interaction where Shawn and Gus are joking around with Ewing and not taking him seriously, but as soon as he is out of earshot they get serious about the implications of a federal agent being on the same case. Joking around but still paying attention the whole time is kind of Shawn's whole thing, but seeing the transition and Gus clearly being on the same wavelength is really cool.

I think one of the best things in the series was in “Disco didn’t die, it was murdered!” Where before they go into the pawn shop, there’s a picture of the “Gold and Silver Pawn shop sign”.

for anyone wondering who arent seed the episode, the other pyschic is actually a android werewolf, she kills shawn and gus but lassie hacks into her systems and activates her temporal drive, going back in time to save the 2 and he uses his signature kamaehamaeha wave attack to destroy her.

In the next movie they should bring her back or Introduce us to a new real psychic just to give Shawn someone to compete with lol.
