Amazon Web Services' Relational Database Service (RDS) offers a scalable and secure relational database in the cloud. We also cover Aurora, a MySQL and Postgres-compatible relational database engine that provides high performance, scalability, and availability. Elasticache is another AWS service that makes it easy to deploy and run an in-memory cache in the cloud using Redis or Memcached. I explain how caching can provide significant performance benefits for applications that frequently query the database, and it offers two strategies: write-through and lazy loading/cache-aside. The comparison of RDS and caching to a hospital is used to explain the different services in simpler terms.

Thanks for watching and have a great day!
