My uncle just bought a Power XR+ Maverick. Aside from no directions included, it would not operate with the remote. I tried this procedure to re-sync the remote to the letter but it did not work. What I ended up doing was instead of unplugging the cord from the wall and removing the 9 volt batteries, I unplugged the quick connect between the transformer and the chair for a few minutes, then reconnected it and successfully re-synced the remote, and the chair worked great. A suggestion, if La-Z-Boy could at least include a quick start guide with the chair, showing how to install the back, connecting any cords, and a diagram of the buttons on the remote and on the side of the chair, that would help. Then if the customer wants to read a complete instruction manual, they could scan a QR code with a phone, and then view it.

I dropped my remote and it stopped working. The reset button may have worked on its own but I didn’t know it existed till you told me. At any rate, I went through the entire process and even though I didn’t hear the 3 beeps,

Thanks so much for this video. We just received 3 new chairs today and one was not working. I found one of the switches under where the remote goes was in the wrong position. Now it works great, just like my other 5 La-z-boys.

This worked! Thanks! I realized the power box had no batteries in it since installation so put those in. Next time the power goes out, I won't be stuck in the chair trying to climb out. Also, I never realized there were buttons in the remote cradle. Maybe nest time I should read the directions that come with the chair.

We received two new lazy boy chairs two months ago. Both remotes work great but we received no paperwork. My issue is none of the buttons on the side of the chairs have ever worked. What should I do? Our box for the 9 volt batteries does not have any batteries in it either.

You forgot one critical step. After you use the paper clip to reset the remote, you then have to press the search button on the side of the chair once again, and then you will hear the beeps, letting you know the reset was successful

No beeps after resetting, and still no remote function. I basically have a $1800 rocking chair right now.
