Overnight ferry in Greece

The ferry ride from Chania Crete to Pireaus Athens wasn’t very eventful, we just tried to get as much sleep as possible (easier said than done when you haven’t booked a berth to sleep in!).

After handing the keys of our roof top tent car back to the Airbnb host we explored around old town in Chania, Crete. We had our usual budget friendly meal of gyros and treated ourself to a coffee before getting on the overnight ferry to Athens.

Once we were in Athens (technically Pireus) we checked into our Airbnb for the night. Our host was kind enough to let us check-in at 7.30am!!

We said goodbye to our jobs, sold all our belongings, and left Australia on a one-way ticket to Shanghai with just each other and our backpacks! We plan to travel the world for a year, see as much as possible, meet as many people as we can, and most importantly MAKE OUR MONEY LAST!

When we left Australia we decided to make travel vlogs to share our journey with our friends and family back home. We also love watching other travel vloggers on YouTube, in particular Kara and Nate, The Endless Adventure, The Way Away, and Flying The Nest.

Dont forget to visit Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Portugal and Spain. Thinking about that cartop maybe it would be good to get some sort of foam/air inflatable padding you can tightly roll up so you have a nicer surface to sleep on when on the move, like on the floor in the ferry.

Everybody, from whom I have heard about visiting Crete, said that the island is a wonderful place regarding the sea and beaches, people and food, peaceful life. From your videos I now know that it also has a very interesting landscape.
Sleeping on the floor is not a great pleasure, but one can cheer up oneself by thinking that it's better than sleeping in a seat. ;)

We loved Hania in Crete had a great hair cut and an amazing meal for €19 for two plus a bottle of wine and then some liquid that was like fire water the husband loved it.

Prefer not to be negative, but what's the point in taking an overnight ferry when you can't get any good sleep? .... It ends up impacting your next day... I think the girl here said she's off to bed when they get to the air bnb.
