Artificial Intelligence (AI), Deep AI and Machine Learning (ML) systems - collectively called AI, are increasingly used in human activity offering huge potential benefits finding new solutions to complex problems. However, there are problems in testing because AI breaks into new ground finding new solutions, so become difficult to apply the usual best practice software testing principles and consequently can't audit suitability and testing of such AI systems. These problems become significant when AI is involved in safety critical applications which need rigorous testing and auditing.
