My first thought is that methane on it's own is odorless (the smell of natural gas is an artificial odor). But this is Zoidberg, a Decapodian, so his olfactory senses could be completely different from humans, maybe able to detect methane (but presumably not his own stench).

Actually sulphur, because methane has no smell but sulphur is added for households to make people smell it in case of a gas leak
