Complexly might have 5 billion views officially (which is already WILD) but with how often they are shown in classroom settings with often 20+ people in the room, the actual view count is probably so much larger. I feel like Crash course must have one of the least accurate view counts of any Youtube channel

Hank! I don’t know if you’ll see this, but when you mentioned that you were 31 years old when you started what would become Complexly, it lifted a massive burden off my shoulders. It’s reassuring to see someone as successful as you acknowledging that cool ideas and projects take time, and that we don’t have to have everything figured out in our 20s.

I was unemployed and depressed and ill and then I started watching crash course and now i have a degree. It seemed impossible until you made casual learning fun enough for me to remember that I care about things once and now did again and that i was still capable of learning.

My dad and I were renting a car for a family trip a while back, and in talking with the guy working the desk he mentioned he was using Crash Course while enrolled in community college to get his prereqs out of the way, and it forced me to realize that, dang! Crash Course is just... out there! Everybody has access to it! People who aren't terminally online know what Crash Course is!

It's an ignorant realization to come to, but it brought me a huge amount of joy. Y'all do good work.

Pausing the video because of the ''I was a child, I was 31''. I am 31 and pregant with my first baby but I totally feel like a child lol. I'm also going into education after a decade of doing music and theatre. So that's a nice parallel.
