Putin warns sanctions will make energy prices hike 'unavoidable'

President Putin has said an increase in global energy prices will be 'unavoidable' in light of the sanctions imposed on Russia over the invasion of Ukraine.

President Vladimir Putin told a government meeting that Russia is adhering to its obligations on energy supplies after the United States banned Russian oil imports.

Earlier, the Kremlin issued a chilling warning to the West saying it must understand the "danger" of sending arms to Ukraine.
