Up to one-half of people over age 65 reports some difficulties with balance or walking. Systematic clinical assessment for balance is essential for effective treatment.The Timed Up and Go Test (TUG) is a timed walking test designed to measure gait performance and balance. Originally developed as a clinical measure of balance in elderly individuals, the scale has been used in a variety of populations including stroke, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis and SCI.
