I actually did this before I moved out of my last place. Except we used regular table salt, applied it generously to the carpet and left it there for about 4 days. We gave our cats a regular bath then applied flea drops. There were definitely no more fleas in the carpet, they didn't jump on us anymore, and they weren't on the cats either. This trick really does work. Also, Beauty bark around the home harbors them.

Thank you I put the salt on my carpets and in 1 hour I could walk through my living room with out fleas jumping on my legs and biting me.I used fine ground salt.thank you

great thing about this is, its a lot cheaper to do and friendly to all your pets no worries about chemicals etc, i would suggest using a soft broom to brush the salt into the carpets

@shirleysw21 Yes. Make sure you do it several times, and wash rugs and linen too. Sprinkle salt on carpet and floors. I spent $300.00 on my German Shepard in the 1980's to get rid of fleas- foggers and chemicals. Not one worked. Salt works, but you must keep it up until they die.

After treating my cat with a medicated flea med (advantage), I cover my carpet in a table salt and baking soda combo. I let it sit a few days and then i vaccum it up. I continue to vaccum daily for a week to make sure there aren't an survivers. It works!

Thank you for this video…i just sprinkle all over my carpet and at the same time i put water and dishwashing soap in a bowl every corner and goodness fleas jump to the water and it drown them..i will hoover it after one way or two…

The 1st honest pest control video posted by a pest control professional....now when you search through Google the search result only shows fearured posts and most you can tell give repeating to use a professional - which of course meaning using toxins that can be very dangerous for your health.

Dissolve the salt into water, then spray it on the sofa and carpets. Then vacuum to get rid of the dead fleas. Done ;)
