A fever is when the body temperature is higher-than-normal. Fevers can occur in both adults and children.

Causes:

Fever also occurs when the body's immune response is triggered by external elements such as: Viruses, Bacteria, Fungi, Drugs, Toxins, Other Causes

Fever Due To Medication:
A fever that shows up after taking a drug or a medication is called a ‘Drug Fever’. It generally goes away after you stop taking the drug. An allergic response to the medication or a preservative in the medication can sometimes cause a sudden rise in body temperature.

Fever Due To Tumor:
Sometimes tumors can become infected & may prevent the brain from properly regulating the body temperature. This is generally seen in cancer patients, due to the medications involved in cancer therapy and also due to the fact that cancer patients generally have a lower immunity.

Fever Due To Environmental Factors:
Sometimes, the body temperature can go up due to strenuous exercise or because of exposure to a sudden change in climate. A change in the weather can induce a fever.
You should seek immediate medical attention if any of these signs or symptoms accompanies a fever: Rashes, Vomiting, Seizures, Pain while urinating, Stiff neck, Headaches, Throat swelling, Muscle weakness, Difficulty breathing, Hallucinations.

Talk to a doctor immediately to get the best treatment plan, as the treatment depends on the cause and symptoms associated with the fever.

I have had low grade temps between 99.4 and 100.6 for 8 years. For the first couple of years they were daily then went to sometimes daily and sometimes just periodic accompanied by fatigue and feeling flu-like symptoms among other things. I have seen several different doctors over the years. They all run some labs, everything is normal on bloodwork, so they dismiss the symptoms and do not pursue it any further. It is beyond frustrating.

Cancer, tb ruled out in my grandmother test, still no relief from fever which is nearly 100 degree not more, which reoccures every two three days, she is on medications anti bacterials, antibiotics, for last three months this is the case, can any body help?

I am having frequent fever since 3 months. Taking paracetamol everyday. Done my CBC, all readings normal but ESR is very high, like 70. Had kidneys ultrasound - normal, chest x-ray is normal. Don't know the reason for infection. Other than fever I don't have any complaints like stomach pain or swellings or any rashes nothing. But sometimes I get heavy breathing just after few steps. Someone, Pls help. Pls suggest what it could be. Why this fever all the time. 😕

This doctor is like a doomsday doctor! She goes to the worst of the worst case scenarios. Surely there are other reasons short of malaria that can account for a fever. Like the body trying to burn off something.

I am having fever since 1.5 month everyday my body temperature shows 99.1 F to 99.6 F I have been diagnosed by typhoid but I did complete my course! Now I have done all the blood test, urine test, widal and even blood culture. Every test is normal, there is no infection. Can you please tell me what should I do to cure this fever?
