Yes, Shinemate is the best in my opinion. The 4 I have are all I use now. Nice video as always.

Amazing comparison. I have the EB351 and I think I'll be sticking with it after watching this review!

Thanks Sandro

My issues with these are the same issue I have with cordless. The batteries are expensive, so you want as much reuse as possible. If you go with these, there isn't very far to go. Yet a Milwaukee has tons of tools you can share the batteries with.

The Dewalt Cordless DA is where its at, has a lot of Power, doesn't Stall easy. Next to the Dewalt I would go Flex

I’ve put a washer mod (m8 zinc plated) in the HLR15. It definitely gets rid of any power concerns (didn’t really have any tbh but now it for sure doesn’t stall)

The battery placement is a matter of adjusting technique. That doesn’t mean I’m a fan of it, as my cordless rotary is from flex.

I'm very happy with my 15mm and 21mm Rupes machines, no issues at all and I have quickly gotten used to the battery positioning. I'll admit it isn't ideal, but the lightweight, balance and ergonomics of the machine make it possible to maneuver it so that it is not an issue on the majority of cars. They are a vast improvement over my previous Milwaukee cordless machines.

The trigger is also a non-issue for me. I've never really throttled the trigger to spread polish (I think it is a waste of time) so I always go straight to the trigger lock anyways. Apparently it was a late addition after SEMA because people who weren't used to the machine were constantly hitting the trigger while swapping batteries. After the criticism they got for the same issue with the HLR75, I can see why they made the change.

Great content Sandro as usual. However, there is a dichotomy between these battery powered machines and their traditional 'plug into the wall' counterparts. I've listened to and enjoyed your comments but nothing I've seen will draw me away from my (corded) Rupes Mille. Wherever these cordless machines trip up . . . the Mille catches them. Seamless power and torque. Great ergo with very tolerable db's. It's kinda like electric cars. Many have tested them but the tide is turning back to the traditional. Hope that makes sense. Your a great icon of this industry Sandro and I admire you so much for raising the bar in terms of the knowledge of it and getting valuable information out to all of its participants. Cheers Brett

Today i tested briefly 15 eb351, 15 milwaukee and hlr15. Shinemate was the smoothest and speed 6 it was the strongest polisher, Milwaukee was bit faster on lower speeds. So overall Shinemate is superiour. I think im gonna sell my Rupes and het 15 and 21 eb351.

An excellent review of 3 very successful brands. Like you, I say Rupes will address the trigger, battery, and power issues in the Mark 2 version. I'm glad to see you've still got the Lite Ace. It may be retired from mobile detailing duties, but I bet its still running strong. Cheers Sandro, and have a great weekend my friend.

Flex > any other garbage. Everyone thinks the Flex is weak because it’s the smoothest. i’ve owned both the rupes and flex and the flex is by far the best option.

My take from your review is Shinemate #1, Rupes #2 and Flex #3. Too bad the Rupes almost had it all but just fell a little short imho.

I have 4 shinemate cordless units. (Eb210, eb 351 15mm, 21mm and eb350 12mm) all are solid machines. This was a great initial offering by Rupes, but that battery sag is a problem. Im really surpised they are sending that out the door like that as an industry leader in polishing machines, and at that price too😮! Im good with my shinemate decision. This was a long overdue video, and im glad you are the one who finally did it Sandro!! Real talk though, how about a 3in cordless video? We know the eb210 walks with that one though😅I d be interested to hear and see your take on it though. Awesome job as always man!!!

Rupes = Ferrari, Formula one precision
Flex = Mercedes, quality and comfort

Awesome video! I have the Flex XFE15 and overall I do like it and can get quality work done with it. The weight is fatiguing, however I do like that it’s built like a tank. My biggest gripe on the Flex is the crappy speed dial that has no detents and spins too freely. I’m constantly bumping the speed up inadvertently, and that is super annoying. However, I do like the XFE, and I would love to get the Flex PE150 cordless rotary brother to this machine.

That battery position on the Rupes is a deal breaker for me.
