As a fledgling YouTuber, I’m also thinking of making the leap from the phone camera. The ZV1 seems to be the best balance of an affordable upgrade, but coming from the iPhone X, I’m surprised at how nice the iPhone 11 looked from the rear cam, but the focus and depth of field does fall a bit flat. Still on the fence...but excellent comparison! Very helpful

I use Filmic Pro + Filmic Remote on my iPhone. Saves me a lot of headache. If only Filmic was not giving me headaches with white balance and exposure.

I'm gonna start vlogging with my iphone 11 pro max, I don't see a big quality diff, although would be handy to see what you are recording when iphone is on, bit of a downside but will do me for starting out, boya mic and a light see how I get on. Thanks for the detailed video, loved it

Hi Christophe. Great comparison. While the ZV1 has the edge in a few ways, the iPhone looks great for something that's usually going to be with you all the time in your pocket. It'll be interesting to see how they perform outdoors in sunlight. I look forward to your other ZV1 videos. Cheers, Dave.

Superb! Would you demo the bokeh button in studio vs the iPhone. In the studio the iPhone sounds better. But in the field with wind noise and a noisy background, well that’s another story altogether. Please keep coverage of the ZV-1 coming. Several other things about stills: Two things come to mind so far. The ZV-1 blows the a9 out of the water with 24fps stills! At the beach in Florida’s blasting summer sun, this thing can ND filter and 1/32, 000 of a sec. So combined that would be F1.8, @ 1/32, 000, with ND filter @24fps! Can any other stills camera do that right out of the box with eyeAF while focusing and measuring exposure 60 times per second with live tracking @ base That's enough to make you dizzy!!! Oh, I heard it can do video too! Bonus!

I've been contemplating between getting the Sony ZV-1 or the upcoming iPhone 12 Pro max! I mean for $799 dollars the camera, whereas a phone we always have on us, with no recording heating issues, SD card issues, file corruption problems o_o?
