On Friday, November 8, 2024, a passenger was detained after attempting to open an emergency exit door on Korean Air flight KE658 with 284 passengers on board.

The flight, an Airbus A330, departed Bangkok around 9:30 p.m. About an hour later, cabin crew found the man sitting on a crew-only jump seat near the mid-cabin emergency exit. When they asked him to return to his seat, he refused, approached the exit, and began shouting and threatening staff.

Korean Air stated that both crew members and passengers helped subdue the man. Upon landing, he was handed over to Incheon International Airport Police, who are investigating the incident.
