In todays episode I'm going to make an comparison between V-ray Render and Corona Render. There are both two exceptional render engines but I want to find out which one is better in 2023.

Cool comparison.
I downloaded the scene and gave it a try.
1. I don`t know why your Vray lost so much detail and looks washed out and dull.
2. There is no reason to use Vray and not use bucket sampling. That is like buying a Mustang to drive offroad.
3. Disable texture filtering in vraybirtmap to get sharper textures.
4. Use a higher color threshold like 0.05 with a mild denoiser to cut render times while preserving find details.

Anyhow, love your channel, keep up the good work!

Good for making a comparison video, but I have to disagree with the conclusion here. It should be clear to you that understanding how to use V-Ray properly is crucial for an accurate comparison. While I was initially interested in switching to Corona, this review seems to lack the fundamental knowledge of V-Ray's capabilities and workflow. It's important to consider a fair evaluation that takes into account both renderers' strengths and weaknesses. Looking forward to a more informed comparison in the future!

ну да....для людей которые не особо напрягаются настройкой рендера корона если покопаться в настройках....тогда врай....и быстрее и фотореалистичнее

Vray 6 CPU should be at least 2x faster than Corona, since V-Ray is heavily "biased" while Corona is more accurate ( = requires more precise calculation ). I guess your mistake was the 2% Noise limit in Corona, not sure but I think 0.01 = 1%, also normally you don't need denoiser for 0.01 because it's already clean and it will just ruin all the detail of textures/shaders. If I use Denoiser I just use the default V-Ray Denoiser often at Mild setting as it's the recommended one, because it uses Elements aka AOV's to recognize the noise vs bumps/roughness, while the other ones just denoise the final image so it blurs way more and those are best used for IPR, not for production imo as they're far better at first few passes.

Nice comparison! Since you have the scene ready, is it possible to render it with the GPU version also with whatever gpu you have. I'm thinking if it is worth to upgrade gpu and use Vray or upgrade cpu and stay in Corona :)

if using acesg for vray. The image quality is no different from corona. but vray has more choices for faster completion time

exaggerated settings in vray! I would make this render in 5 minutes!

in v-ray you sometimes got to lower the texture blur...
