Should You Watch Redline?

Redline is a futuristic racing action film produced by Madhouse and directed by Takeshi Koike. This is my short review on if you should watch the movie.

While yes the story is nothing too new or special.

It is a nice easy movie to watch with such beautiful visuals.

While being a bit cliche yes. We need stories in those foundations to show why they are cliche. Why it's a classic.

I've loved this movie for years. And will continue to love and rewatch it many times

The voice actors did an amazing job, that one commentator that kept yelling “I’m tweaking!” Had me on the floor

Redline is a movie that I enjoy thinking about as much as I do watching it. It created a universe that feels so packed and we only get to see one portion of it, and along with that the animation is just beautiful and one of the best looking 2D animated films ever.

The art style alone is something to enjoy if you’re not keen on a racing story. If you are into racing then all the more reason to watch it

A way I described it to my friends was that it’s a racing movie and that’s what it sets out to be. There is motivation for characters but nothing else. It’s a racing movie through and through and it does that well

If i didnt factor in nostalgia or emotional ties in general, this would be my favorite movie ever by a wide, wide margin. Ponyo and The Iron Giant tie for my favorite movie cause of childhood and they're generally amazing, and this is an extremely close 2nd because it is STELLAR.

I disagree that the story isnt that great. It's simple, yes! Just a race. But the world building is so phenomenally thought out and there are subtle things I noticed every time I watch. There really is a lot more going on if you are willing to notice AND it's a gorgeous movie.

Not all Cliches are bad. I rather have a good Romance in the the Movie who is too sweet that it gives you Diabetes. Instead of American Movies where they just try to get the Girl in the Bed which happens way too often because many People cant write decent Movies or good Romance anymore.

Watched this movie for the first time today and my god it’s already on my top 10 all time list. Yes the plot isn’t that deep but it’s perfect enough for a movie

I whole heartedly agree with you! I watched it and at first I was taken back by how weird it was but your absolutely right about everything of that movie! The songs were hitting just right, the animation was top notch, and most importantly I didn't hate any of the characters at all. It was and still is a very rare underrated gem of a movie.

I personally think it is equally detailed and great in characters, themes, music, and races as the animation itself is.
