Load Testing a Battery

Using a carbon pile tester to load test a battery may seem like a old fashioned test and it most certainly is, but it the most accurate test there is and if you know how to analyze the numbers you can see exactly what the battery is doing. Modern conductance testers are fine but you don't get any kind of real insight as to how good or bad the battery is compared to a load test.

Midtronics manufacturers a handheld battery
diagnostics tester that also checks starter and alternator condition . If there is a fresh charge to the battery, turn headlamps on for 2 minutes to remove the surface charge from the battery .

Should i increase the load more than half of the cold cranking amp or not. If yes then what will be the procedure.

So how is this different than a $15 Harbor Freight battery load tester? It works just as well at determining the health of a car battery.

Hi, is this the same test for a scooter battery? I charged my battery and the multimeter reading is 14volts but I still can't start the scooter?
