Ultrasonic Welding Process

This animation shows the movement of the welding process when two parts are welded. It also shows the molten polymer (plastic) flow profile in the weld zone.

I used to operate a huge sonic welding machine and I loved it. Unfortunately the place I worked got shutdown

If longitudinal welding is being performed here like the diagram of the machine and tooling shows then surely the vibrational forces won’t be in the horizontal axis as shown by your arrows at the parts mating surface. Only if the torsional style is welding setup is used would you see this action.
