Vital News! Elon Musk Just revealed SpaceX's BIGGER and BETTER Starship...
Elon Musk has always been a man that has gone beyond the limiting notion of human beings to do the impossible. His Starship has become the biggest and the most powerful rocket in the world. However, he has hinted at its crazy successor, a bigger and better rocket called Starship 2.0. So how big is it? Why would he want to create it? How many engines will be set up and which one will power it? And we’ll be looking at all the details in today’s episode.
Vital News! Elon Musk Just revealed SpaceX's BIGGER and BETTER Starship...
How big is Starship 2.0?
The minimum distance from Earth to Mars is about 54.6 million kilometers and Musk wants to send 1 million people there. But apart from humans, Musk has to transport tons of other things! This is a money-intensive operation, so Musk absolutely has to find the most affordable way to move people between planets. This is when Starship appeared. To see how big Starship 2.0 is, let's look at the current generation of Starships. Starship 1.0
Vital News! Elon Musk Just revealed SpaceX's BIGGER and BETTER Starship...
The steel alloy spacecraft and its Super Heavy Booster stand 120 meters tall, towering over the Saturn V that carries people to the Moon. The rocket's 9-meter-diameter cargo hold could easily accommodate giant celestial observatories. In terms of power, the space industry has never seen anything like it! The Super Heavy booster B4 now has 30 methane-fueled raptors 1 engines. Subsequent versions from the B7 will use 33 Raptor engines. Starship 1.0 will be able to launch 100 tons into orbit on a fully reusable basis, but according to Musk, the next-generation system (dubbed “Starship 2.0“) would be double the size of the vessel that will transport personnel and cargo to the Moon and Mars. Musk made the comment in response to a question from one of his numerous Twitter followers about his plan to create a larger version of the Starship in the future.

Maybe he should get Starship 1.0 working first!

A doubling of length corresponds to a 4x increase area and 8x increase in volume.

Click bait? Starship 2.0 alleged here and dated 2019 is no longer planned. While Musk may indeed do something bigger, he has since reported that the current Starship is about as large as he will go. On the border of being too big.

Instead of doubling the size he should construct a docking ring in orbit

Mention of Sea Dragon and R.C. Truax brings back some memories. In the summer of 1962, I worked for R.C.T. as a summer hire after my second year of college. He was head of Advanced Development at Aerojet in Sacramento. Some of the concepts like Sea Dragon were really far out...for that day and age, but Elon Musk and SpaceX are taking us closer and closer to those dreams! I know if Truax were alive, he'd be cheering Musk and SpaceX on, if not right in there with them.

Each engine can only lift so much rocket above it, so the rocket can get twice as wide but not taller. Because the engines are nearly at the limit of what they can lift, size can only increase by the power of 2, not by the power of 3.

Star Ship 2.0 will not have 8 X but 6 to 7X cargo capacity of 1.0, because of the requirements of maintaining structural integrity via specialized latticework. Internal structure of various alloyes that turns much of the interior into an active catalyst for manipulating the flow of tension. Tension caused by acellerstion + vibration from all those 60 engines.

This option is drawn out from the notion that steel alloys can't properly be held up by the cylinder chape alone when it reaches that scale, not while applying thrust~G force.

hasn’t he said since that 2019 tweet, that making starship as big in diameter as it already is, was possibly a mistake and making it bigger in diameter would make it worse? i’m pretty sure the BFR had a bigger diameter than today’s starship for this very reason

Starship won’t change diameter for for a while. It’s very difficult to change how wide the vehicle is compared to height. This video is just straight clickbait like most of spacex videos. Using the ITS in the thumbnail isn’t really the smartest idea. Your channel has potential to be special so pls stop posting the classic clickbait (ELON MUSK JUST REVEALED) content

Star Ship 2.0 will not enter itterative composition until after 1.0 makes it to mars. That's 9 to 12 years from now = Raptor engines will be outdated by then if not; on their 7th itteration having nearly one million tons of thrust and nuclear powered high efficiency ion engines specifically for space flight.

Thanks for another beautiful and informative video. Your videos always have a touch of class. I hope Musk provides a time frame for Starship 2.0. Will it be operational in a decade? Two decades? He should let us know. And on a lighter note, I liked the way Kevin exclaimed "Wow!"

Sorry that's nonsense, an 18m Starship with a booster would be realizable, but the thing will never be 240m high, because the thrust of each engine would also have to increase by a factor of 2 per engine and the engines are already working close to the threshold where the combustion chamber melts.
The maximum sensible height essentially depends on the thrust and it cannot be increased at will.
Realistically it's more than 120m, but that will maybe be 150m.
In addition, the next possible step is not a larger diameter, but to ensure that more payload per flight comes to Mars.
For this you need spaceships that work from a low earth orbit (LEO) with engines that have a much higher ISP.
It's actually relatively easy, you need very, very large and very light photovoltaic systems and ion engines. With this you can then instead of 100t, bring 400t payload to Mars by Starship.

4:23 yes; less than 60, should be 43 to 48 at thrust output of 230 to 250 tons. Would be 22 to 24 if they can double the trust performance via magnetic confinement in their bell nozzles. Maybe less of that level of thrust is enough toncross the threshold between the effects of explosion and detionation ... not sure where that is for these engines because I am not an engineer, just an idiot making guesses...

If this is going to be true, then look STARSHIP gonna send at least 200-300 people at a time...it will be like never before-done thing. I think it might be even bigger than SEA DRAGON.

And how do they want to solve the relatively new problem that scientists have recently discovered that during long journeys through space after a man lands on an alien planet, a person becomes anemic, so he has few red blood cells? And so much so that it can affect his form and performance and most importantly healthy.

Did anyone mention anti electrostatic features in the equipment, especially on the solar panels that will be exposed to Martian atmosphere?

5:48 Why is a Starship shown with US Air Force markings? Does Alpha Tech know something that the rest of us don't, or was that shot just something to pad out the visuals?

STARSHIP 2.0 WOULD BE GREAT FOR SHIPPING FUEL INTO ORBITAL FUEL DEPOT.
