NYPD called to clear NYU encampment, arrest protesters

The NYPD responded to New York University early Friday morning to remove a pro-Palestinian encampment from the school's Greene Street Walkway. CBS New York's Christina Fan is there with the latest.

To be honest, as an alumni of NYU, you'd think people these days would be well educated enough to figure out a way to "make a difference" rather than try to encamp and protest, people are not going to care. If you want to make a change and have your voices heard, be the change and find ways to have your voices heard. All they're doing is putting themselves in harms way, allow news outlets to depict them in a negative connotation like they're such a disturbance, even if they are peacefully protesting. They're not advocating for the cause if they're not being heard. They should find means to enter media, schedule sit downs or meetings with establishments and talk about what is going on, educate others. Not whine, cry, stomp the floor and ask for transparency in how universities are allocating their funds. It's stupid in my opinion to do it this way. People don't understand what's happening in the middle east. It's been going on for decades and the complexities behind it goes far beyond our typical understanding. There's always a chain of events that's going to lead to the next violent attack, and the next, and on and on. I don't know enough to say what's right or wrong, All folks who are viewing this from the outside lens can only say, it's wrong what's happening on both sides period. There's no excuse for what's happening. It's a disgusting that people defend either side. It's wrong. Humanity as a whole can do so much better, but we're too busy fighting over land, resources, greed, whatever it is, these are the very sins their religions teach. Forgiveness doesn't exist on either side out of convenience
