On your antenna you found in a box, usually called rabbit ears. Try this.
We had a BW from the 40’s with an antenna.
Take a sheet of aluminum foil wide enough to span the width o of the antenna after being folded in several folds( 1/2 then, 1/2 again, up to 2” wide then wrap each end to each of the “rabbit ears “ as they were called back then. Works fine !

Will trees and living in the country effect the reception? I live in the south with lots of trees. Sometimes I have to move the TV and inside antenna to receive good reception. Very excellent, professional, and easy to grasp for a limited non-technical person. Thank you much
